Due to the incredible demand for Walk in the Tree Tops, our most unique summer product, we have added additional evening tours on Wednesdays and Thursdays. These tours will depart from the plaza area at 5pm and return by 7:30pm.
Walk In The Treetops is an exciting way to experience adventure, fun, and learning in the Rocky Mountains. The adventure is about two and a half hours of guided fun that offers a unique view of the forest from an elevated boardwalk through the treetop canopy. This includes a shuttle ride out to the trailhead, a safety presentation, hiking out and back on an uneven 1/2 mile trail and a walk on an elevated 700' boardwalk at heights up to 70'. Guides give eco-system talks relative to our forests and point out the local flora and fauna. Souvenir hip pack and snacks provided on this Nature and Scenic focused activity. It's the only walk of it's kind in the United States! Reservations are very highly recommended as these popular summer tours sell out quickly!

Walk In The Treetops is available to guests 10 years and older with a minimum height of 54 inches tall. Tours are $54 per person (group sales available at $48/per person with 8+ paid at one time) and offered from June 21st through Sept 7th 2008 at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. A 3rd Late Afternoon tour will be offered Fridays and Saturdays only at 5pm from July 11th to August 23rd. Also Sept 13/14, 20/21 and 27/28 based on demand. Tickets are available at the Lift Ticket Plaza near the base of Chair 2. Meet near Chair 1.

One of the best ways to experience the beauty of Montana's natural setting is cruising along some of the 20+ miles of biking trails at Whitefish Mountain Resort. We have some of the best and most plentiful trails in the state, offering something for everyone. This year, we will offer lift accessed mountain biking from Chair 1, providing 2200' of lift accessed biking. Leaving directly from Whitefish Mountain Resort Village is the popular hiking experience of the Danny On Trail, which meanders up the slopes of Big Mountain through blooming wildflowers to the 6,817ft summit, passing through forests and fields. Epic vistas look out over the valley and the mountains from various points along the trail.
There are four different loops and routes on the trail with the longest route being 5.6 miles from base to summit. The most direct route is 3.6 miles. Please remember to pack extra clothing, food, and water and travel with hiking partners.
When the huckleberries are ripe - be prepared to eat some delicious berries too!

Disc Golf is a fun, and quickly growing sport that incorporates Golf, Frisbee and Hiking. The general ideas is very similar to 'ball golf', you try to take as few shots as possible to reach the pin or goal. The goal is a 'tone', or a metal cylinder on a post that rings when hit by a disc. The fewer shots the better. Discs can be rented at both Snowghost Outfitters in the village and the Ticket Outlet adjacent to Chair One. Lift Tickets are not necessary to play Disc Golf at Whitefish Mountain Resort.
The main course is laid out in two sections, the upper and lower 9. The 'Upper 9' starts just east of the Chair One Plaza, and the 'Lower 9' loops around the Rainbow Pond, just below the Baselodge in the Cross Country Area. Please see map for more information. You can also find the course by following bright red/orange arrows starting just east of Chair One, or near the Magic Carpet.
RULES & REGULATIONS
1. The player who has the most fun wins.
2. Play shall begin on each hole with the players throwing from within the teeing area.
3. After teeing off, the player farthest from the target is the next to throw.
4. Each 'hole' has a metal 'tone' standing about 4.5' high. Your disc must hit the actual 'tone' in order to advance to the next hole. Each hole is usually played as a par 3.
5. A disc that lands in water and is not touching the shore or a disc that lands in any marked out of bounds area is out of play. If a disc is out of play, the player marks their lie at the last point where the disc was inbounds and takes a one stroke penalty.
6. Hikers, bikers, and pedestrians have the right of way. If there are people on the hole you are playing, if there is another group finishing out the hole, do not throw. Dogs must be on leashes at all times. Please pick up after your dog, and after yourself.

formations, and glaciers.
